Greetings!

There is a very common mistake that many guitarists do when learning guitar scales. This simple mistake/oversight always hinders the pace of progress dramatically. What do you think that this might be? We try to learn each and every scale!! Have you done that? I’m sure that you have.

I did it myself when I started playing the guitar. I bought any number of those monstrous books on learning guitar Scales. I spent hours every day practicing and I thought that this would make me a “master scaleist” because I would certainly know them all!! I soon realized that I was making a big mistake – and I didn’t know what to do about it or where to go to find help.

Why do you think that this is a big mistake? Everybody thinks that the more guitar scales you “know” the better you are. Well … If you had 20 lifetimes to learn them all, then this would be true. However our time here on earth is limited. There is simply not enough time to learn all these scales. This was my situation for my first year. What did I achieve? Was I a “Master” whose learning guitar scales made me an outstanding guitarist with guitar scales?

Absolutely not. My progress was slowed down because I was overwhelmed, I had learned a lot of unnecessary guitar scales, my guitar practice routine became unbalanced and I could only play the guitar scales in a very superficial way.

During these times I searched the net high and low, did a lot of research. I took a lot of the free “stuff” and wasted many more weeks. I finally decided to enroll in Craig Bassett’s Guitar Scales Mastery membership group. By joining this group I had a guided way of “unlearning” the bad techniques and progressing to guitar scale mastery at the fastest possible pace. When I had problems I just emailed the group or Craig and the group got me back on track.

The manuals, practice routines and videos kept me on course, gave me learning shortcuts and enabled me the learn guitar scales at the fastest most comfortable pace for me.

Thanks a mil to Craig and the Membership Group,

Skip did all of this learning guitar scales, how to play guitar scales, learning the guitar, guitar playing, how to learn to play the guitar, learn the guitar, guitar play, learning the guitar scales, guitar songs, learning to play guitar, learn guitar scales

Hello everybody,

Months ago I was just a lonely picker and sat at home for hours on end wasting time, not learning guitar scales or how to play guitar scales, not making progress – all I did was manage to get my fingers calloused!

A friend sent me an email link to the Guitar Scales Mastery membership group. The first time I went to the membership site – I knew that this was for me! Only my “prodding” friend knew that I had joined this learning guitar scales membership group.

Learning the guitar requires discipline but I can’t believe the change that my guitar playing has undergone these last few months!! I was taught how to learn to play the guitar and I was motivated to practice and learn the guitar. Soon I was having successes. Then the big moment came!! I was going to be “outed” this evening and I was nervous.

I was invited to a party (and brought my guitar) – boy was I scared. I had “jammed” with other friends before but it was never in public and I had been practicing guitar scales alone and in secret these last months. This night I was going to solo guitar play. So at one point my “prodding” friend called attention to me and asked that I play. WOW! The pressure!!!

There was some snickering and un-funny smiles as I came to the center of the party goers and sat down on a stool. Then as I began guitar playing the room fell silent. Even previously disinterested party goers came and joined the group around me!! By learning the guitar scales so well I had astounded everyone who knew how I used to play guitar songs. If you (the reader) want to see what I did to overcome my fear of soloing please click here.

I am shy by nature but the learning guitar scales has greatly reduced my shyness. I have more friends (including a new relationship) and I am having more fun than allowed by law!!

If you are like me and have a passion for learning to play guitar but lack the self-confidence that you need to go “solo” – then I would recommend that you check out the Guitar Scale Mastery membership group and learn guitar scales from a pro! I am currently concentrating on Focused Lick Creation, Focused Improvisation and Gesturing.

Thanks for reading and I wish you all much success in your learning scales on guitar,

Skip K. – Tucson, AZ

P.S. – Many thanks to Sergio & Craig Bassett for the learning guitar scales materials & coaching
